Two Point Delivers Static Archive Solution for Orthopedic EHR Sunsetting Ahead of 2025 Deadline

October 2025 — Two Point, a leader in healthcare data archiving and migration, has partnered with a regional healthcare organization to deliver a static, compliant archive for an orthopedic EHR system scheduled to be sunset at the end of 2025.

Following a major EHR vendor acquisition in 2021, many orthopedic and podiatry practices have been prompted to migrate to new platforms as the legacy systems approach end-of-life. Two Point’s implementation ensures that affected organizations retain secure, continuous access to patient records while maintaining compliance with all federal and state data retention regulations.

Addressing an Industry-Wide EHR Sunset

The healthcare organization had utilized its orthopedic EHR for more than eight years and was facing the loss of access as the system was retired. The vendor’s final export package included MSSQL database files and “Patient Medical Record” PDF/CSV bundles—a format that, while comprehensive, posed challenges for maintaining data accessibility and usability.

Two Point’s solution, powered by the ACERT™ HIT Archive, provides a searchable environment that allows healthcare teams to easily locate and view historical patient data even after the EHR is decommissioned.

“When a vendor sunsets a system, it creates a critical compliance and continuity gap for healthcare organizations,” said Phil Lisitza, President of Two Point. “Our ACERT™ platform bridges that gap, ensuring that no patient data is ever lost in transition.”

Accelerated Implementation and Proven Results

Leveraging prior experience with this same EHR platform, Two Point’s engineering team was able to streamline deployment without requiring extensive discovery or custom development.

The project is scoped for completion within a two-month timeline, ensuring the archive is fully validated and signed off prior to the December 31, 2025 deadline. The result will be a secure, long-term archive that satisfies seven-year retention requirements and supports future migration readiness for systems such as AdvancedMD.

Empowering Healthcare Organizations During Transitions

The orthopedic archive initiative underscores Two Point’s growing role in supporting healthcare organizations through vendor divests, EHR transitions, and system consolidations. As more legacy platforms reach end-of-life, Two Point continues to expand its archiving capabilities to accommodate diverse data formats and system architectures across the healthcare IT landscape.

“Our clients are often under immense pressure when an EHR vendor announces an end-of-life date,” said Bob Mandel, VP of Business Development at Two Point. “Our goal is to remove that burden by providing a fast, compliant, and transparent path to data continuity.”
